Green Monsters have totally saved my life. Totally.
I generally have no use for salad. Ugh, I know. BAD.
The only kind of salad I like is one covered with chicken, bacon, pecans, cheese, blah blah blah.
However, that is not always so great for your health.
I used to eat one salad at a restaurant (*cough* Boston Pizza) thinking I was soooo good.
Then I went online and saw that this salad had 1500 calories.
Yipes. That’s like, pretty much an entire day’s worth for me.
Anywhoo, to the point, I found Green Monsters, which is a smoothie made with spinach.
GASP! I know, but YUM.
You can’t even taste the greens and it’s a great way to get the nutrients.
Not to mention that I had my braces tightened yesterday *ouch* and thought I would starve to death.
I usually drink the same old one, which I will post another time, but this morning I was needin’ some choco!
This will be great for those who enjoy dark chocolate, it’s not overly sweet but I love it!
Chocolate Green Monster
1 1/2 cups of almond milk
2 handfuls of baby spinach
1 frozen banana, thawed
2 heaping tablespoons of pure cocoa
1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder
Place ingredients in order of list, blend until completely smooth with no pieces of spinach remaining.
I would rather drink this than a sugar-filled breakfast drink any day!
If I had some protein powder I would have added that as well.
You can also add ice if you like.
